Land claims give survival builders confidence to invest in homes, farms, storage, and community projects without turning the world into a locked single-player experience.
What is a Minecraft land claim?
A land claim is a protected area controlled by a player. On Cube Survival, GriefPrevention supplies the claim system. Inside a properly configured claim, other players cannot freely alter protected blocks or containers. The owner can choose when to collaborate and which players receive trust.
Claims protect effort, but they also create clear boundaries. A neighbor knows where an established project begins, and staff have better evidence when reviewing accidental damage or deliberate griefing.
Plan before you claim
- Choose enough space for the finished project, not only the first shelter.
- Leave reasonable distance from existing builds, roads, and community infrastructure.
- Include valuable storage, entrances, farms, and redstone controls inside the boundary.
- Avoid claiming unused land simply to block other players.
- Check terrain above and below when the project includes tall towers or underground rooms.
A practical first-base strategy
- Build a compact starter shelter.Keep important storage close while learning the area.
- Create and inspect the claim.Confirm that every vulnerable block is inside its boundary.
- Test access assumptions.Doors, containers, farms, and shared paths may need different trust decisions.
- Expand before building outward.Do not add valuable rooms beyond the protected boundary.
- Document shared projects.Agree on ownership and access before investing resources together.
Trust is permission, not ownership
Only grant trust to players you know and intend to collaborate with. Trust can let another player interact with part of your protected area, so treat it like access to a shared workspace. Remove access when a collaboration ends and never accept pressure to trust a stranger immediately.
For towns or large community builds, divide responsibilities deliberately. Shared paths and public rooms can remain accessible while high-value storage and technical controls stay restricted.
Claims and the community rules
An unclaimed build is not an invitation to destroy it. Cube Survival's community rules prohibit griefing, theft, and intentional claim bypasses. Claims reduce risk and ambiguity, while rules govern conduct that no plugin can fully interpret.
Common claim mistakes
Only the chest is protected
Extend the claim around the complete base, including walls, entrances, farms, and valuable utility blocks.
A new room sits outside the boundary
Inspect and expand the claim before moving storage or rare materials into the room.
Too many people have broad trust
Review access regularly and grant only the permissions needed for the project.
The claim blocks a road or neighbor
Adjust boundaries respectfully. Persistent multiplayer works best when players leave space for shared movement and future development.
Expanding ambitious builds
Players can earn and obtain additional claim capacity through the systems available on the server. The official store includes a permanent claim expansion, but ordinary survival play and free participation remain the foundation. Always link your Minecraft identity before purchasing an eligible benefit.
